video_pong_v5_full

This is a fun little game I made sometime around 2006. You can play pong by waving your hands in front of your computer's video camera. You need a video camera (aka webcam) for this to work. Sometimes it works in the web browser and sometimes it doesn't. If you don’t have a video camera, you can watch this short video of the game.

Interaction: Wave your hands over the sparkly areas along each side to move the paddles. Play with a friend for maximum enjoyment.
It will auto-adjust to the background, so you can just move your hands near the paddles to move them. The sparkly areas show your influence on the paddles. If you see sparkles everywhere or nowhere, then press ‘-’ or ‘+’ to adjust the motion tollerance.

Download: Here is a zip file with Windows, Mac and Linux applications of the game as well as the GPL licensed source code built with Processing.

Exhibit: In 2007, this game was exhibited as part of RIGHT CLICK: Open Source New Media Exhibition at Kapok Gallery in Hong Kong.
